Presidents Update: August, 2019

Welcome to the August Newsletter. I continue to ask you, the membership, to take a pride in our course and make every effort to repair divots, rake bunkers, repair pitch marks and pick up any discarded litter you come across. I have seen a marked improvement in the tidiness of the tee boxes, which improves the overall appearance of the course for members and visitors. However, you will see in the Greens Section of this edition of the Newsletter that we have recently had deliberate damage caused to the 5th and 9th greens. This is totally unacceptable and anyone found causing damage to our course will face disciplinary action.

We have one of the most prestigious events of the golfing year taking place at the club over the weekend of the 10th and 11th of August. On the Saturday members will compete for the 2nd Division Mug and the 3rd Division Wooden Spoon played over 1 round. Sunday members will compete for the Club Championship played over 2 rounds. Further details regarding these events will be circulated to members prior to the competitions. I would encourage as many members as possible to take part and make it a great weekend of golf.
